Indulgence isn't selfish -- it is essential!
Women are great at managing other people’s stress, but are often lousy at managing our own.
Perhaps it is because we feel guilty taking the time to indulge ourselves in even the most simple ways. There is always one more thing to be done: one more load of laundry, one more project, or one more call. Yet, denying ourselves the time to relax and rejuvenate, indulge, lets the stress build up.
What are you denying yourself?
A treat?
Wine and chocolate can be a great stress remedy if you let it. Don’t feel guilty for taking time in the evening to enjoy the richness (in an appropriate portion).
A break?
How long has it been since you put your feet up and read a book in the middle of the day? Are you dining al desko and missing an opportunity to relax for a few minutes at work? Do you reward yourself with a spa service only when you get a gift certificate? Give yourself time to relax
recharge!
Sleep?
Does seven hours of sleep seem indulgent? It shouldn’t. Your body needs sleep to get rid of the chemicals created by stress. Read the article in MyHealthyHeartInfo for suggestions to protect your sleep and protect your heart!
Stop denying yourself. Indulge yourself!
Remember:
The people who love and depend on you want you to be strong and healthy.
Treat yourself well, you deserve it!
Indulge and feel great in 2008!
